Absalom Chubb, aged 71 years, died at the home of his son-in-law, Philip Klinger, on South Second street. at 1.30 p. m. Monday, of pneumonia. Deceased was born in Lykens Valley and is survived by his widow (nee Elizabeth Witmer), and three sons and five daughters.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. A. H. Souilliard at the Transfiguration Baptist Church at 2 p. m. this afternoon. Interment in Citizens' cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ida Klinger, 80, of 530 North St., Lykens, who leaves 240 descendants, died early last Wednesday [November 27, 1963] morning in her home.
Born near Dalmatia, Northumberland County, Mrs. Klinger was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Witmer Chubb.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Lykens.
Seventeen children survive. They are: Mrs. Maude Fenzel Lykens R. D; Mrs. Gertrude Lenker, Halifax R. D; Mrs Delton [Mr. Belton] Klinger, Millersburg; Mrs. Lillian Schriever and Mrs. Hattie Pickup, both of Millersburg R. D; Mitchell Klinger, Lykens; Philip W. Klinger, Lykens R. D; Stanley L. Klinger Lykens; Mrs. Elizabeth Raho and James R. Klinger, Tower City; Henry Klinger, Wiconisco; Mrs. Myrtle Rodichok, Tower City; Mrs. Martha Diakow, Lykens; Mrs. Margaret Ressler and George Klinger, both of Wiconisco; Mrs. Mildred Olsen Tampa, Fla; and Mrs. Evelyn Miller, Lykens.
There are 79 grandchildren 111 great grandchildren, and 33 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are, a brother Guerney Chubb, Spring Glen and a sister, Mrs. Katherine McClain, Sunbury.
Funeral was held Saturday morning from Roy W. D Schaffstall Funeral Home at 406 Market St., Lykens. The Rev. Mr. John Chorney, pastor of First Baptist Church, at Lykens, officiated at services. Interment was made in Wiconisco Cemetery.3

- In the 1910 Census, Mary was listed as the head of a household that included 2 children -- Belton G. and Irene S. -- along with a newborn grandson Royce C. Buffington. Mary was a dressmaker who owned her own shop. According to the Census, Mary had been married 20 years and had given birth to 4 children, all of whom were then living. Apaprently, by this time Mary had been separated from Philip.5
