    Clayton Franklin Kline, 72, of 1355 W. Main St., Valley View, died Thursday at Schuylkill Manor, Pottsville.
    Born in Hegins Township, Aug. 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Ray and Martha Schaffer Kline.
    He was a retired breaker operator for Pine Creek Coal Co., Spring Glen.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, where he was a former trustee and former member of the administration board and nominations/personnel committee and member of the Men's Bible Class; Valley Lodge 797, F&AM, Valley View; Harrisburg Consistory; life member of Valley View Fire Company and a member of Independent Miners Association.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Kline and two brothers, Warren and Roy.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Erdman, to whom he was married 55 years; a daughter, Joan Hepner, RD1 Hegins; a son, Jeffrey, Valley View; two brothers, Charles, Spring Glen, and Clair, RD1 Hegins; two sisters, Verna Shadle, Pottsville and Ethel Chubb, Lykens; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's UM Church. The Rev. H. Raymond Brooks will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is charge of arrangements.

    MILLERSBURG - Ruby L. Wiest, age 74, a resident at the Manor @ Susquehanna Village passed away on Sunday March 17, 2013. She was born in Klingerstown the daughter of the late Miles and Mabel Heim Erdman. She was a member of Paxton Bible Church. Surviving are her husband of 55 years Billy L. Wiest, Sr., three daughters Debra Hilbert, Connie Stoneroad and Yvette Van Zandt all of Millersburg, two sons Billy Wiest, Jr. and Michael Wiest both of Lykens, a sister Lena Kissinger of Millersburg, 11 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ginny Stence, brothers Bruce, Walter and Earl and sisters Gloria Carl and Helen Kline. The family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 pm on Thursday March 21 at the Paxton Bible Church. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.     Elwood Emery Erdman, age 97, of 201 Gap Street, Valley View, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at his home.
    He was born on Tuesday, March 5, 1912 in Rough and Ready, a son of the late John J Erdman and the late Elura G (Starr) Erdman.
    He was a 1932 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
    He served in the US Army in Panama.
    He was a self employed coal miner and had also worked for Legal Coal Co, and Kocher Coal. He retired from the former Newport Homes, Pine Grove.
    He was a former member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, the Valley View Fire Company, and the Hegins Area Ambulance Assoc.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers Stanley, Rahn, and Barto Erdman; and a sister Velma Klinger.
    He is survived by his wife, Irene M Erdman, to whom he was married for 70 years.
    He is also survived by two sons, Elwood E Erdman and his wife, Sharon of Hegins and Colin E Erdman of Spring Glen; two daughters, Alice M Deitrich and her husband, Clifford of Meriden, Conn. and Susan P Runkle and her husband, Robert of Spring Glen; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a sister Ella Artz of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews.
    Memorial services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating.
    Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.6,7
