He worked at Goshen Farm & Lawn Center as a mechanic; was a former caretaker of the International Friendship Gardens, Michigan City, and had worked at Pletcher Hardware, Wakarusa, which was owned by his father. Stanley helped many people when he saw they needed help and took them into his home.
    A memorial gathering will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
    Burial will be at Olive (West) Cemetery at a later date.
    Memorial contributions may be directed to Habitat for Humanity.2

    She was born in Olive township August 4, 1893, the daughter of Mr and Mrs David Holmes.
    Her marriage took place January 30, 1915.
    Surviving are her husband, seven children, two grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Frank Ernest of Goshen, and two brothers, Ross Holmes of Goshen, and Ed Holmes of Mishawaka.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home at 1 o'clock and at 1:30 at Olive church, with the Rev Harvey Bowers officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Arnold Dietz will officiate and burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Gideon's International.4
