     Daniel Edward Bixler was born on 31 May 1901, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He married Edith Irene Shade.1 Daniel Edward Bixler died on 20 February 1940, Valley View, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 38.2,3
Newspaper obituary:
Daniel Bixler Daniel Bixler, of Valley View, died at his home Tuesday evening following a lingering illness.
He was born May 31, 1901, a son of James and Lydia Bixler and was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Surviving are his wife, Edith, and th following children, Ray, Eugene, Franklin, Eleanor. Margaret Violet and Ruth, at home. His parents of Valley View and the following brothers and sisters also survive, Guerney, Rufus, Clayton, Homer and William, of Williamstown; Ralph, Mrs. John Dunkle, Mrs. Edmond Wyanf and Mrs. Clayton Deibler, of Williamstown.
His funeral will take place Saturday morning with further services in the church. H. E. Miller of Valley View is in charge of arrangements.

Edith L Bixler, 90, Maple Street, Valley View, died Thursday evening at Pottsville Hospital.
Born in Feamot, Nov. 16. 1904, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma Troutman Shade.
She was a retired presser, having worked in Valley View garment factories.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bixler, in 1940; a daughter, Eleanore Wetzel; four sons, Ray, Eugene, Franklin and Russell Bixler.
Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Hartman, Gratz, Violet Koppenhaver, Tower City, and Ruth Long, Roseville, Calif; three brothers, John Shade, Valley View, Kenneth Shade, Dowingtown, and Joseph Shade, Hegins; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m Tuesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The Rev.. Mark Woodring will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery, Valley View. There will be no calling hours Monday evening. Robert Miller Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
