Charles E. Carl
Charles E. Carl died at his home at Spring Glen, Wednesday morning of last week of asthma, aged 51 years, 7 months and 12 days, after an illness of a few months.
He was a life-long resident and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carl.
He was married to Hannah C. Bowman, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Lewis, of Fearnot; Russell, Mrs. at home; four daughters, VerBenjamin Koppenhaver), of Gratz; Oneda, (Mrs.
Harry Diebert), near Gratz; Fay, (Mrs. Paul Artz), of Spring Glen, and Crusie, at home, and 12 grandchildren.
He was a member of the Lutheran church of Sacramento; the Mechanics of Spring Glen, and the Golden Eagles of Gratz.
The Mechanics were in charge of the funeral, which was held last Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Lutheran church, the Rev. Sultzbach officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran and Reformed cemetery at Sacramento.

     Hannah C. Bowman is also referred to as Calmira in some sources.2 She was born on 29 September 1878, Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, PA.3,4 She married Charles Edward Carl in 1897.5,3

MRS. HANNAH C. CARL
Mrs. Hannah C. Carl, wife of the late Charles E. Carl, of Spring Glen died suddenly at her home on Thursday of last week.
She was born in Hubley Township, September 29, 1878, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Bowman.
She was aged 64 years, 8 months and 25 days. Her late husband died in 1928.
Surviving are the following children: Lewis and Mrs. Ben Koppenhaver, Gratz; Mrs. Harry Deibert, Hegins, R. D; Crusie, Russell Mrs. Paul Artz. Spring Glen. Fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as two brothers, Mr. Robetr Bowman, Spring Glen and Ellsworth Bowman, of Valley View also survive.
Funeral services were held at the A. R. Buffington Funeral Home and in St. Paul's Church at Sacramento on Sunday afternoon.
Dr. D. I. Sultzbach was the officiating pastor.
