Russell S. Carl, 81, of Spring Glen, died Saturday in his home.
He was born in Spring Glen, Nov. 17, 1906, a son of the late Charles and Hannah Bowman Carl.
He was a retired miner.
Mr. Carl was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento.
His wife, the former Grace Morgan, died in 1962. A son, Warren, died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Donald, Valley View; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Crusie Carl, Hegins area, and Faye Artz, Spring Glen.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ. The Rev. H. Kapp Ogburn III, Hegins, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
There will be no calling g hours this evening. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
