Ira Sylvester Tobias was born on 14 May 1905, Gowen City, Northumberland County, PA.3,4 He was the son of Franklin Tobias and Katie Feese.2 Ira Sylvester Tobias married Edna Pauline Oxenrider, daughter of Francis Gordon Oxenrider and Sarah Falck, on 24 August 1928, PA.5,6 Ira Sylvester Tobias died on 26 July 1960, A. C. Milliken Hospital, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 55.4

Ira S. Tobias, 55, of Klingerstown R.D., died Tuesday at 3:30 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville. He was admined there 13 days ago.
Mr. Tobias, employed as a coali miner and as a member of the labor crew for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co., had beenl unable to work for the past three years due to ill health.
He was born in Gowen City May 14, 1905, a son of the late Franklin and Katie Feese Tobias.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ at Leck Kill and Eureka Lodge of I.O.O.F. 260, Leck Kill.
Surviving are, his wife, the former Edna Oxendrider, and these sons and daughters: Merl and Mrs. Marvin Keim, both of Klingerstown R.D; John of Leck Kill; Betty, Martha and Marvin, all at home; four grandchildren; two; brothers, Dorie of [Shamokin] R. D. 2; Lewis of Elyria, 0; and a sister Mrs. Lollie Maurer, of Shamokin.
Funeral Friday from Lawrence Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, R.D. Interment in Leck Kill United Church of Christ Cemetery. The Rev. J. C. Glessner, will officiate at services.
