Wilbert L. Tice, 73, of Pitman RD 1, Schuylkill County, died Friday at his home.
He was a former resident of Spring Glen and Gratz; a coal miner; last employed by Allied Chemical Co. at Mar Lin until his retirement in 1980; a member of the Zion Evangelical Congregational Church of Pitman RD 1, Mahantongo Fire Company, Mahantongo Valley Senior Citizens, Erdman Sportsman Association, National Rifle Association and Spruce Spring Hunting Camp in Mifflin County; served as former commissioner of the Upper Dauphin area of the Keystone Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America; was brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow of the Boy Scouts; and was awarded the Order of Merit.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Miller Neugard Tice; his stepmother, Hollie Tice of Pitman RD 1; three sons, Larry of Pitman, James of Apopka, Fla., and Dennis of Palmyra; a daughter, Mrs. Don Huntzinger of Halifax; a stepson, Larry Neugard of Pitman; a stepdaughter, Carol Stehr of Pitman; two brothers, Edward of Oaklandon, Ind., and the Rev. Robert of Norfolk, N.Y; two sisters, Pauline Holshue of Hagerstown, Md., and Mae Kaseman of Herndon, Va; two stepbrothers, Robert Hoffman of Dornsife, and Kenneth Hoffman of Klingerstown RD 1; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in his church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD 1, handled arrangements.
