Ilka Paul, 69, of Tower City, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at home after a courageous 20-year fight against cancer.
Born in Dommitszch, Germany, April 21, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Stelter Cornelius.
Ilka was a dedicated pharmacy technician at Williams Valley Pharmacy, Tower City, for the past 25 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City.
She enjoyed flowers, especially her orchids.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Rodney Paul; daughter, Estella Welsh (Michael), Alaska; son, Eric McCoy (Angel), Virginia; stepdaughter, Tisha Cunningham (Mark), Colorado; three grandchildren; two sisters, Heidi Kosior, New Jersey, and Mildred Hubbard, Florida; nieces and nephews.
Following Ilka's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society , 101 W. Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Janet E. Helt, 75, of Westminster, MD, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Carroll County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Bixler) Seiders. She was the wife of Marvin W. Helt of Westminster. They were married for 57 years. Janet lived in Westminster for the past six years and was a former resident of Elizabethtown for many years.
Retiring in 1997, Janet was employed for 20 years by Arbatron, Inc. where she worked as a computer tech supervisor. She was a former long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown and was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Maryland.
In addition to her husband Marvin, Janet is survived by two sons: Mark Timothy, husband of Darlene Helt, Manchester, MD; Roy Thomas, husband of Deborah Helt, Elizabethtown; a brother, Larry Seiders, Sinnamahoning, PA; two sisters: Elaine Givens, New Tripoli, PA and Amanda Pennypacker, Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
