She was a 1978 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a graduate of Central Penn Business School.
She was a clerk typist for Troop L, Pennsylvania State Police, Schuylkill Haven; where she was employee of the year in 2011. She was a part time caretaker for the Redco Group.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento; where she served as church secretary.
She was also a member of VFW Post 8237, Valley View and the Valley View Gun Club.
Darlene was the founder of the Tyler Stiely Memorial Fund and the Tyler Stiely Fun Day.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler S. Stiely in 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Alan R. Stiely, to whom she was married for 27 years.
Surviving in addition to her parents and her husband are a daughter, Kayla A. Stiely of Fairfax, VA; a brother, Richard "Ric" Coleman of Columbus, OH; and her mother and father in law, Darwin and Patricia Stiely of Klingerstown.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, May 2, with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. There was no viewing. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
