Donald E. Grimm, 62, of 34 Laurel Hill Drive, Quarryville, died Saturday at Lancaster General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Elizabethville, he was the son of Harry E. Grimm of Harrisburg and the late Helen C. Barge Grimm. He was the husband of Joan Schwalm Grimm.
In 1989 he retired from Commonwealth Telephone Co. after 35 years. He had advanced from a labor position to management, which took him to Quarryville 15 years ago. He had also worked for the phone company in Towanda and Dallas.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the John Lloyd American Legion Post 404 in Elizabethville. A member of the Quarryville Memorial United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association and George M. Dallas Lodge 531, Free and Accepted Masons.
He also was a member of the Shekinah Royal Arch Chapter 182 in Wilkes-Barre, Dieu Le Veut Commandery 45, Knights Templar, Wilkes-Barre, Irem Temple of the Shrine and Quarryville American Legion Post 603.
He served as a volunteer for many years with the United Way, and was a merit badge adviser for a Boy Scout troop. He was also a member of the Quarryville Lions Club until his illness.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one son, Marcus E. of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Donita of Quarryville; one sister, Elsie Meckley of Clermont, Fla; a granddaughter; and a grandson.

Terry "Terf" Schwalm, age 55, of Hegins, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.
He was born on August 30, 1964, in Pottsville, a son of the late Paul I. and Nancy Harner Schwalm.
He was a 1982 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
He was a tool maker for TE Connectivity, Lickdale.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
Turf was also a member of Valley View Gun Club; Scrub Club Hunting Camp, Clinton County; enjoyed coaching his children's sports teams; hunting and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Amy S (Stiely) Schwalm, to whom he was married for 24 years.
He is also survived by his daughter, Emily B. Schwalm of Hegins; son, Dawson P. Schwalm; three brothers, Scott P. and wife Gretchen Schwalm of Dauphin, Dennis I. and wife Christine Schwalm of Hegins, Jason M. and wife Amanda Schwalm of Hegins; step mother, Lorraine Schwalm of Valley View; step brothers, David and wife Julie Witmer of VA, Robert and wife Delana Witmer of VA, Ronald and wife Kimberly Wiest of VA; step sister, Michele and husband Jeffery Pigott of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Andrew's Church on Saturday November 23 2019 at 11 A.M., with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.
A visitation will be held from 9A.M. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be made in the St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Tri Valley Youth Activities Fund, 2 Fearnot Road, PO Box 210, Sacramento, PA 17968.
