Joseph Krussick
Joseph Krussick, former resident of East Centre street, Shenandoah, died Friday at his home in McAllister, Okla.
Years ago he played football with The Gibralters, a well known Shenandoah semi-pro team. Both of his wives preceded him in death Leona (Nevadomsky) and Elsie (Wiest).
Surviving are two daughters and a son: Mary and Theresa Krussick, New Jersey; Joseph, New Mexico.
Burial in Oklahoma.

Francis 'Frank' Staskiel

Francis "Frank" Staskiel, 78, a resident of Shenandoah Senior Living Community, passed away Sunday at the center. He was a former resident of Weston Place, West Mahanoy Township.
Born in Ashland, Oct. 31, 1932, he was a son of the late Francis and Elsie Weist Staskiel.
Frank was retired from General Motors, Wilmington, Del., where he worked for 32 years.
He was a decorated Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Frank was a member of First United Methodist Church and A. P. Damato Medal of Honor Post 792, both of Shenandoah. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, the former Dorothy M. Howard, on Feb. 13, 1995; and a sister, Alberta Gober.
Surviving are a stepsister, Mary M. Guetling, Schuylkill Haven; a nephew, Harry Howard and his wife, Roseanne, Ringtown; nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services with military honors at 10 a.m. Thursday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. The Rev. Christopher Wollyung will officiate. - Alberta and her husband Robert were the subject of a somewhat novel legal action when Alberta brought charges against Robert for larceny of property from her home. The case raised new issues in Pennsylvania under the "Married Women's Property Acts." After attempting to quash the charges was dismissed, Robert faced a grand jury on the charges in April 1966. It is not clear how the charges were resolved.3

Alberta Gober, was Shenandoah civic leader
Alberta Gober, 64, of 211 W. New York St., Shenandoah, died Monday evening at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center.
She was the founder and president of the Shenandoah Area Community Betterment Association, a member of the Shenandoah Teen and Adult Association, and a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Food Bank. In addition, she was a director for the Economic Opportunity Cabinet, a member of the Shenandoah Recreation Board, a volunteer at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center, and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Shenandoah Eagles.
Born in Mount Carmel, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elsie (Weist) Staskiel.
Before retiring, she was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry.
Surviving are daughters, Deborah Karpovich, Frackville, and Jennifer Gober, Miami, Fla; brothers, Joseph Krussick, Arizona, and Frank Staskiel, Shenandoah Heights; sisters, Mamie Guetling, Schuy|kill Haven, and Theresa Sullivan, Oklahoma; one grandson, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., Shenandoah. The Rev. Mindy Hepp, her pastor, will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Contributions to the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home's Activity Center, in care of Deborah Karpovich, Box 88, Frackville 17931, would be appreciated by the family.
