    George W. Tripp, 78, of Kihei, Hawaii, and formerly of Jackson, died Friday, Dec. 23, 1994, in Albion Community Hospital after a short illness.
    He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Ames, Iowa, to Ernest C. and Mary C. (Bohner) Tripp.
    Mr. Tripp, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, moved to Jackson in 1947 from Iowa.
    He was employed for 31 years by Consumers Power Co. as an electrical engineer, retiring in 1979.
    He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Maui Lodge and a member of the Order Eastern Star Maui Lodge, American Legion Post 37 in Ames and Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. He was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Jackson and the Lions Club.
    He married Wyhoma M. Iden on Dec. 23, 1946, in Boone, Iowa. She survives.
    Surviving are a son, George E. Tripp of Albion; a daughter, Janet M. DeRider of Holland, Mich; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Tripp of Ames. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Tripp.
