Jacob Masser
Jacob Masser, 71, of Valley View, died Friday at 10:30 a.m. at his home. He had been ill several years.
Born in Shamokin December 12, 1897, he was the son of the late Samuel and Amelia Geiste | Masser.
Before his retirement in 1963 Mr. Masser worked as a clerk in Masser's store in Hegins, then operated by his father, and later by two brothers, Mark and Paul.
Mr. Masser was a member of Friedens UCC and Hegins Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife, the former Lellie Strausser are three sons, Richard of Hegins; Mark of Norwalk, Ohio and Charles of Dalmatia: three daughters, Mrs. Mae Willier of Gratz; Darlette Reabold of Muir; and Mrs. Betty Snyder of Somerfield; brothers, Mark and Paul, both of Hegins; 26 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services Monday afternoon from the Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View.
Rev. P. Larry Potteiger Hegins will officiate. Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

Masser Rites
Services for Lillie E. Masser, 80, of Rattling Creek Apartments, Lykens, who died Sunday in Pottsville Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Michael Romig, Gratz area, will officiate. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
Mrs. Masser was born March 8, 1906, in Ravine, a daughter of the late Irvin and Katie Schach Strauser.
She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
She was a retired employee of Hegins Manufacturing Co.
Her husband, J. Geist Masser, died in 1969. A son, Richard, died in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Mark, Norwalk, Ohio; two daughters, Mae Hess, Lykens area and Darlette Acker, White Haven; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; a brother, Irvin Strauser, Lebanon; a sister, Amy Demmy, Tremont Nursing Home.

Joyce Dolan, 89, of Williamstown passed away peacefully Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Born in Williamstown, January 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Clarence and Sadie Vogel Weist. Joyce was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
Joyce worked at as Secretary at Ft. Indiantown Gap and also worked at the former dental office of Dr. Giarraputo, Williamstown.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where she was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Joyce was a member of the Williamstown American Legion and spent countless hours volunteering with her late husband Dicko, who was the Post Commander for many years. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels, watching Notre Dame football and spending time with her beloved dog Rocky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband R. Michael "Dicko" Dolan, January 22, 2008 and a sister, Betty Genovese.
Surviving are a son; Michael B. Dolan (Paula), Switzerland, three daughters; Tracie A. Sully (Jim), Dillsburg, Eileen M. Oxenrider (Ned), Tower City and Maureen Dolan (Harold), Williamstown. Three grandchildren, Ned, Jared and Jake and one great grandson, Andres. A niece and nephew Connie Schultheis and Dennis Genovese.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ as Celebrant. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at the Williamstown American Legion. Private burial will be in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Joyce's name should be made to the Williamstown American Legion, 123 W. Market Street, Williamstown, PA 17098.
