Larry D. Cooper, 82, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2019 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg with family by his side. He was the husband of JoAnn M. (Hoffman) Cooper. Born May 16, 1937 in Elizabethville, he was the son of the late Harry and Florence (Stoneroad) Cooper.
Larry was a 1959 graduate of Penn State University and worked for Amp, Inc. as an Industrial Engineer, Systems Manager and in various other technical roles before retiring in 1999. Larry was a natural athlete who excelled at sports, especially basketball, baseball, and softball. He was a member of the 1955 State Championship American Legion Baseball Team and played in basketball leagues well into his 60's. Larry also enjoyed Penn State Football and the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball team. After his retirement, Larry enjoyed carpentry, gardening, travel and spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnn; sons, Kirby D. and wife Bonnie of Durham, NC, Richard D. and wife Leslie of Apex, NC; daughter Kathryn A. Light and husband Gregory of Macungie, PA; grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, Rebekah, Sarah, Jessica, Ethan, Danielle, Joshua, and Jacob; great grandchildren Claire and Bogue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-brother, Ronald Cooper, step-sister, Sandra Romberger, and step-mother Faye G. (Cook) Cooper.
A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 4PM in the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. Private interment will take place in the Hershey Cemetery.

Catherine D Lenker, age 87, of Dalmatia, passed away on May 31, 2024, at her residence.
She was born in Herndon on March 23, 1937, a daughter of the late Carrie (Strausser) Gessner and the late Charles Gessner.
Catherine worked in quality control at Crowell Corp, Newport DE prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, giving back to others, a good joke, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Catherine is survived by two daughters, Cindy L Stulb and her husband Christopher of Harleysville, PA, and Connie E Hamm and her husband Ron of Berlin, MD; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Colin, Madeline, and Brandon; three sisters, Marie Lenker, Leah Gessner, and Shirley Lawrence; a brother, Marlin Gessner; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on June 7, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery, Dalmatia.

MILLERSBURG - Ray E. Stoneroad, Sr., 46, of Millersburg RD died Thursday as the result of a traffic accident in Hampden Twp.
He was a carpenter and an employee of L F Temps Inc., Camp Hill; a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War; and a member of VFW Post 5507, American Legion Post 326 and Lower Mahanoy Fire Company, Dalmatia.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothea M. Stoneroad; a son, Army Pvt. Ray E. Jr., stationed in Germany; two daughters, Tracy L. of Herndon and Jamie K., at home; his parents, Richard and Roth Stoneroad of Millersburg RD; four brothers, Michael of Millersburg RD 1, Randy of Tower City, Dennis of Shamokin and Roy of Herndon RD; two sisters, Linda Lettich of Halifax RD and Cathy Herb of Elizabethville RD; and two granddaughters.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hoover Funeral Home.

Margaret E. Lenker, 85, of Lykens, died Sunday at Kepler Convalescent Home, Elizabethville.
Born in Lykens, July 5, 1918, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora Shafmer Forney.
She was a member of Lykens United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Herman and Walter Forney; a sister, Edna Forney.
Surviving are a son, Ted R., Lykens; two sisters, Betty Bressler and Dorothy Scheibelhut, both of Lykens.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens. The Rev. Keith J. Schmuck will officiate. Interment will be in Patriotic Order of the Sons of America Cemetery.
