Ivan Russell Hoffner, 85, of Valley View, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center- South Jackson.
He was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Valley View, a son of the late Harry R. and Helen S. Smith Hoffner.
He was a 1944 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre with the 11th Airborne Glider Division.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel, Steelton.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View. He was also a member of VFW Post 8235 and American Legion Post 575 of Valley View, and the NRA.
Ivan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Hoffner.
He is survived by his wife, Velma M Ramberger Hoffner, to whom he was married for 61 years; two sons, Glenn I. Hoffner and his wife, Jan, Halifax, and Brian D. Hoffner and his wife, Jan, of Valley View; a daughter, Linda A. Reed and her husband, Douglas Halifax; two grandsons, Andrew D. Reed and Grant D. Hoffner, both of Halifax; two granddaughters, Brittney L. Reed and Rebekah J. Hoffner both of Halifax.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Monday atTrin-ity Lutheran Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Brian Beissel officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. There will be no viewing.Interment will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO. Box 153, Valley View, PA 17983.Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements. DANVILLE -- Truman Gerald Wise, 66, formerly of Dalmatia, died early Wednesday evening at Grandview Health Home, Danville RD 4, where he had lived since July 1992.
He was bom in Pillow, Sept. 18, 1929, the son of Mildred (Gotshall) Wise of Lewisburg and the late Truman Wise.
He served in the Army from 1946 until 1953 and received the Korean Service Medal with six bronze service stars and the Purple Heart.
In his early years, he was a lineman with Bell Telephone and later was employed as a truck driver, retiring due to disability.
He was a lifetime member of the Lower Mahanoy Fire Co. and Herndon Fire Co.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Suzanne Headdings of Dalmatia; three sons, Eric Wise of Herndon, Andrew Wise and Bradley Wise, both of Dalmatia; three grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Rebuck of Dalmatia and Jean Strohecker of Mansfield.
Private services will be held at the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, with the Rev. Terry Mook officiating, Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

DALMATIA -- Dolores E. . Rebuck, 67, of RR1 Dalmatia; died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Elizabethville, Dauphin County, a daughter of the late Rev. Truman and Mildred I. (Gotshall) Wise. She was married to Paul Rebuck, who survives.
Mrs. Rebuck was a homemaker.
She was a member of God's Missionary Church, Pillow.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cathy Rebuck of Harrisburg; three granddaughters, Collette Rebuck, Corrinne Rebuck and Carrissa Rebuck, all of Harrisburg; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and William Strohecker of Mansfield.
Family and friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at God's Missionary Church, Pillow, where a religious service will be conducted at 11 by the Rev. Timothy Cooley.
Burial will be in God's Missionary Cemetery, near Pillow.
Donations may be sent to God's Missionary Church, Pillow, PA 17080.
Arrangements are by the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Market and Chestnut streets, Pillow.
