  • Emma Jane Lewis died on 8 January 2007, at age 75.3,2
  • Newspaper obituary:
Emma Jane Kopp was born in Tower City, Pennsylvania to Elizabeth and Garfield Lewis January 28, 1931.
She was the loving wife and partner to Edgar Neal Kopp for 54 wonderful years.
She was the youngest of seven children; and was preceded in death by brother, John and sisters, Rhoda and Louise; and survived by brother, James and sisters, Audrey and Delphine.
Joining Neal in grief are son, Steven; daughter, Kathy Kopp-Misiak and her husband John Misiak; grandson, Iain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She traveled extensively having lived in Poitiers, France; Augsburg, Germany; Georgia, Colorado, Virginia and Maryland and numerous camping trips took E.J. and family from California all across the country to Maine; but Atlanta is where they came to call home.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, golf and swimming; and was an avid gardener. She appreciated the cheerfulness of a good, happy musical and attended the Fox regularly with her husband.
She was renowned for her gourmet culinary skills, having floor to ceiling cookbook bookshelves included in her recently renovated kitchen, and hosted the most excellent holiday dinners and cocktail parties.
She will be remembered for her kind and gentle heart, her optimism, her joy and her feistiness; as being a loyal and generous friend, the most caring and dedicated Mom and Mimi kids could want and a more perfect, loving and devoted wife could not be imaginable. Her life was full and well lived.
Just days before being stricken ill she was swimming with dolphins and snorkeling. She had a wonderful life...and will be missed.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday January 24, 2007 at 3:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 4882 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the St. Andrews Extending Program.
