    Francis Earl Paul, 45, of Spring Glen, died Monday in Reading General Hospital. He was admitted as a medical patient on Oct. 18.
    Born in Lykens Twp. July 30, 1909, he was a son of the late Irvin and Elizabeth Strohecker Paul. He worked as a miner at Brookside Tunnel. He was a member of United Brethren Church, Fearnot; Redmen Lodge, Spring Glen.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Blanche Lettich and the following children: Mrs. Robert Schieb, Valley View; Mrs. Ray Brocius, Breezwood; Francis Jr., with the Navy; Mrs. Richard Freeman, Fredericksburg; Joan, Robert, Gerald and James, all at home; five grandchildren; four brothers, Alvin, Mowry; Howard, Lykens R. D; Harvey, Valley View; John, Berrysburg; a half-sister, Mrs. Joel Klinger, Sacramento R. D. and a half brother, Paul Artz, Spring Glen.
    Funeral will be Saturday afternoon from Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View with further services in United Brethren Church, Fearnot and burial in United Brethren Cemetery. The Rev. H. M. Mentzer will officiate.

    Phyllis E. Scheib, 84, of 411 W. Main St., Valley View, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading.
    Born July 20, 1929, in Fearnot, she was a daughter of the late Francis E. and Blanche Paul.
    Phyllis was employed at local garment factories.
    She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
    She enjoyed quilting, reading and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events.
    Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Scheib; brothers, Francis, Robert and James Paul; and a sister, Dolly Brosius.
    Surviving are a daughter, Susan Ruhl and her husband, Tim, South Carolina; four sons, Chaplain Glenn Scheib and his wife, Cindy Hawaii, Steven Scheib and his wife, Tammie, Harrisburg, Gary Scheib and his wife, Sally, Texas, and Kevin Scheib and his wife, Alice, Hegins; 17 grandchildren; 12 grea-tgrandchildren; two sisters, Betty Freeman and Joan Shade; and a brother, Gerald Paul.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Fearnot. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, co Youth Fund, RO. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
