    DOVER- Patricia G. (Blyler) Miller, 83, died on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Guy A. Miller and the wife of the late Carl Knouse.
    A celebration of life memorial service will be 6 p.m., on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A visitation will be from 5-6 p.m., prior to the service.
    Born on February 28, 1929, Patricia was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Grace (Ritzman) Blyler.
    Mrs. Miller was a highly skilled and successful seamstress. She created special occasion and custom wedding gowns. Patricia also raised and showed champion Pomeranians. She loved gardening, travel, her dear friends, and had a great love and compassion to teach the elderly and children the sport of bowling. She was a Certified Bowling Instructor and was a member of the USBC Hall of Fame.
    Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, Guy Miller of Fredericksburg, PA; two daughters, Penny Spencer of Dover and Susan Sepavich of Harwich Port, MA; a step daughter, Karen Knisley and her husband, Larry of York; six grandchildren, Carl Spencer, Sammuel Spencer, Guy Miller II, Christine Kline, Ryan Miller, and Victoria Sepavich; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Neal Blyler and Robert Blyler.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Pomeranian Club Rescue, 2914 E. Blackhurst Rd., Midland, MI 48642.

    MILLERSBURG -- Bertha Lebo Blyler, 92, of Susquehanna Lutheran Village, formerly of State Street, died Saturday in the village. She was a retired elementary teacher, who had taught in the former Gratz School and the Berrysburg and Millersburg school districts; was a member and past worthy matron of Eastern Star Chapter 425; a past royal patron of Amaranth Court 125; a member and former secretary of the Dauphin County Teachers Association; and a member and former Sunday school teacher of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was the widow of Heister 'Pip' Blyler. Surviving are two daughters, V. Clarita Scheib of Millersburg and Barbara L. Troutman of Pillow; a son, Ellerslie of Emerald Isle, N.C; a sister, Elsie Kratzer of Elizabethville; six grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside services, including Eastern Star rites, will be held at 11: 30 a.m. Tuesday in Gratz Union Cemetery.   • Joseph Uriah Blyler married Henrietta Louise Haberlein, daughter of William Haberlein and Elizabeth Vurney, circa 1884.5,6
  • In 1900, Joseph and Louise were living on Grant Street in Johnstown, where he worked in an iron mill. Their household included 5 children: Lizzie, Harry, Clyde, Bessie, and Caroline. Louise had given birth to 7 children, but only 5 were then living.7
  • The 1910 Census lists Joseph as a mill hand in a steel mill. There were 5 children in the household on Grant Street, including their 2 youngest children, Alice and George.8
  • By 1920, their daughter Bessie, her husband Charles McKinley and their daughter Louise were living in the Grant Street household. Their son-in-law CHarles was a conductor on the railroad.9
