    Elsie Irene Lohr, 80, of the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, formerly of 244 Mahantongo St., Hegins, passed away Tuesday at Pottsville Hospital.
    Born in Valley View, Feb. 25, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Scheib Klouser.
    She was a 1944 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
    She retired as a seamstress, having worked in several area garment factories.
    She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Valley View.
    She was also a former member of Valley View Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lohr, who passed away Jan. 11, 2007; a brother, James Klouser; a sister, Jeanette Morgan.
    Surviving a son, Steven S. Lohr and his wife, Patti, Hegins; a daughter, Dr. Georgetta D. Lupold and her husband, Lanny, Valley View; a grandson, Dr. Chris P. Lupold, Charlottesville, Va; two granddaughters, Amy Lupold Bair, Olney, Md. and Brittany M. Lohr, Hegins; three great-grandchildren, Noah and Emma Bair, and Ethan George Lupold; a sister, Fern Dietrich, Hegins; a brother, Elwood Klouser, Pitman.
    Services will be held at noon Saturday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrange ments.
