    Former Tremont Council Member Dies In Hospital
    Edwin G. Klinger, 65, of 327 W. Laurel St., Tremont, died Monday evening in Pottsville Hospital where he had been admitted on January 15. He had been in ill health for about two years.
    Born in Tower City, he was a son of the late Edwin, and Dorothy Williard Klinger.
    A resident of Tremont for 41 years, Mr. Klinger was last employed as maintenance crew foreman for the Reading Railroad Company in the Tremont area. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont, and its Consistory. He served one term as councilman for the borough of Tremont.
    Mr. Klinger was a member of the Advisory Board of Home Savings and Loan Company, Pottsville and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
    Surviving besides his wife, the former Helen Williams, a Tremont elementary school teacher, are a son Edwin W. and a daughter Cassandra, both at home; also two brothers, Irvin Klinger of Tremont and Ralph Klinger of Shamokin.
    His funeral will be held on Friday at two o'clock from the Minnig Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Tremont. Rev. George Carvell, pastor of the United Church of Christ, Tremont, will conduct the services and interment will be made in the United Church of Christ Cemetery, Tremont.
    Friends may call at the funeral home this evening after seven o'clock.

    William I. Klinger, 61, Spring Glen, Lykens Valley, died in Pottsville Hospital from shock following a major operation. Klinger was a brother of Guemey Klinger, Shamokin Borough auditor.
    Native of Spring Glen, Klinger was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Klinger. He was engaged for many years as a miner, bur recently was a farmer. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
    Surviving Klinger are his wife, two children, a sister and two brothers. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon from the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Lubold, Sacramento, where services will begin at 2:00, followed by major services in Evangelical United Brethren Church in Spring Glen. Burial will be in Spring Glen Cemetery.
