Austin Harber Daniel was born on 22 February 1889, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.1 He was the son of Elias Paul Daniel and Amelia Klinger.1 Austin Harber Daniel married Myrtle B. King, daughter of Frank King and Lucy Sigmen, on 7 October 1925, Marion, Linn County, IA.3,4 Austin Harber Daniel died on 31 March 1969, Friendship Village, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, IA, at age 80.1

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kearns-Dykenian Chapel for Austin H. Daniel, 80, formerly of 210 Franklin St., and recently of Friendship Village, who died there at 10:30 p.m. Monday of a heart condition. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born in Klingerstown, Pa., on Feb. 22, 1889, the son of Elias and Amelia Klinger Daniel. He moved to Waterloo in 1900 and resided here since that time. He attended Waterloo schools.
He served in the U.S. Navy prior to and during part of World War I. He was employed and served as manager for the Martin Cigar Store from 1942 until his retirement in 1954. He was a member of Waterloo Lodge 105 A.F. & A.M., EI Kahir Shrine Temple, and the El Mecca Shrine Club, and Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion.
He is survived by his widow, also of Friendship Village, two brothers Wilmer H. of Kirksville, Mo., and Howard of Vancouver, B.C., and a niece, Mrs. W. C. Peterson of 450 Kingbard Blvd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

Dr. Floyd Hinshaw, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate at the 2:30 p. m. Wednesday services at the Parrott & Wood Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Borden was born Aug 10, 1885, in South Wayne, Wis., the son of William and Hattie Borden. In 1900 he moved to Waterloo where he married Hester Peek on May 24, 1925. For 41 years he was an employe of the Waterloo Post Office and for the last five years of his employment, he was superintendent of Station A in Waterloo. He retired about 13 years ago. A member of the First Methodist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School class, he also belonged to the National Association of Retired Civil Employes Chapter 207.
Surviving is his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Tom Clark, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Miss Elfretta Borden of Los An geles, Calif; two brothers, Carroll, Miami, Fla; Orma, Denver, Colo; and two grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents.
Visitations at the funeral home will be until noon Wednesday. The casket will not be open during or following the services. Those wishing to give memorials may contribute to the First Methodist Church, memorial fund.
