FERRYVILLE - Mrs. Alma L. Klinger, 71, died Monday (Feb. 19, 1973) in a hospital after a long illness.
The former Alma Lee was married to George W. Klinger in 1927. He died in 1946.
Surviving are two sons, Harvey, Ferryville; and Howard, Portland, Ore; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Johnston, Lynxville; two brothers, Alfred, Ferryville; and Rudolph, Gays Mills; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lake-Thornburg Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, where friends may call after 2 p.m. today.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Troutdale for Howard George Klinger, who died Oct. 30 of cancer at age 67.
Mr. Klinger was born March 26, 1931, in Ferryville, Wis. He was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi River, then moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1952. There, he worked for King Building Suppliers for six years and owned a grocery store before moving to Sandy. He owned Sandy Mobile Homes until retiring. In 1948, he married Blanche Hamilton; they later divorced.
Survivors include his sons, George of Eagle River, Alaska, Kaye and Dennis, both of Sandy, and Charles of Gresham; brother, Harvey of Ferryville; former wife, Blanche Dumpprope of Fairview; and six grandchildren. His daughter, Rhonda, died earlier.
The family suggests remembrances to a favorite hospice program. Arrangements are by Aftercare Cremation & Burial Service.

Harvey L. Klinger, age 80, of Ferryville, WI passed away March 12, 2008 at Franciscan Skemp in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15 at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing, with Pastor Libby Howe officiating. Burial was in Ferryville Cemetery in Ferryville, WI, where military rites were accorded.
Harvey was born in Ferryville, WI January 12, 1928 to George and Alma (Lee) Klinger. He married Kathryn Stoehr November 24, 1951 at St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien, WI.
Harvey was a lifelong resident of Ferryville, WI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He started working in the Ferryville State Bank in 1946, and after 43 years of service he retired in 1989. He served his community for many years as an active member of the Village Board, the Booster Club and the Ferryville Cemetery Association. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing, bird watching and gardening. He had great love for his grandpuppy, Buffy. More than his love of nature was that for his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn Klinger of Ferryville, WI; four children, Debra (Gerald) Gunter of Independence, MO, Glenn Klinger of Maumee, OH, Cheryl Otto of LaCrosse, WI, and Kathy Mansfield of LaCrosse, WI; four grandchildren, Joshua Parr, Charlotte Mansfield, David Otto and Matthew Otto; and four great-grandchildren, Talib, Eve, Alexis and Jonathon. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and George W. Klinger; and two brothers, Howard and James.1
He was buried on 15 March 2008, at Ferryville Cemetery, Ferryville, Crawford County, WI.1
