Joan Marie Kline was born on 6 January 1946.1 She was the daughter of Clayton Franklin Kline and Helen Vesta Erdman.1 Joan Marie Kline and Dennis E. Starr obtained a marriage license in April 1964.2 Joan Marie Kline married Dennis E. Starr, son of Russell Woodrow Starr and Mabel Hanna Reiner.3 Joan Marie Kline died on 18 September 1999, Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 53; A newspaper reported that Joan apparenlt died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Autopsy ordered in death of Hegins area woman
HEGINS -- An autopsy will be performed on a Hegins area woman who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joan M. Hepner, 53, of RR1, Box 86-C, was found dead near her home by a family member at 6:45 a.m. Saturday.
Chief Pathologist Dr. Richard P. Bindie of Pottsville Hospital will perform the autopsy, police said.4,5,6

Joan M. Hepner, 53, of RD1 Hegins, died Saturday at home.
Born in Hegins Township. Jan. 6, 1946, she was a daughter of Helen Erdman Kline, Valley View, and the late Clayton Kline. She was a 1963 Tri-Valley High School graduate.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
She was a retired seamstress with Playtimers, Elizabethville.
A sister, Dianna, died in 1946.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Eugene H., RD1 Hegins; a son, Troy Starr, Valley View; two stepdaughters, Marlene Pinto, Middletown, Conn, and Patricia Leany, Syracuse, Utah; a brother, Jeffrey Kline, Hegins; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The Rev. H. Raymond Brooks will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
