LaRae V. Haas, 89, of Klingerstown, died Thursday at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
Born in Pitman, Nov. 10, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Allen P. and Pearl K. Maurer Heim.
She graduated from Hegins Township High School.
LaRae was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, where she taught the high school Sunday school class and was active with its missionary society. She was a member of the Daughters of America and Order of the Eastern Star Lodge, Harrisburg.
She loved reading, cross stitching and spoiling her nieces and nephews when they came for "vacation."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Haas, on Oct. 10, 1993; three brothers, Chester, Lamar and Dean Heim; and an infant sister, Dawn.
Surviving are a sister, Marjorie Smith and husband, Paul, Pitman; three sisters-in-law, Sadie Heim, Mechanicsburg, Miriam Heim and Lois Heim, both of Pitman; 12 nieces; great-nieces; great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, with the Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Zion EC Cemetery, Pitman. Allen P. Heim, 69, a retired farmer, died this morning at his home in Pitman. He had been in ill health for 14 years.
He was born Dec. 27, 1900, in Pitman. His parents were the late Lewis and Laura (Kehler) Heim.
Mr. Heim was a member of the Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, where he was a trustee and Sunday School teacher, the F&AM No. 797 at Valley View; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Harrisburg Consistory; the Pitman Fire Company, and a trustee of the Burd and Rogers Memorial Home, Myerstown.
Surviving are his wife, the former Pearl Maurer; three sons, Chester, Mechanicsburg, Lamar and Dean R. of Pitman; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Larae) Haas, Klingerstown RD and Mrs. Paul, (Marjorie) Smith Pitman; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, one brother, Calvin, Schuylkill Haven; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Lunt, Ashland, Mrs. Nathan Adams, Sarasota, Fla., Mrs Frank Kreiger, Shamokin, and Mrs. Thomas Griffith, Washington, D. Born in Pitman, Sept. 29, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Vista (Snyder) Maurer. She was married to Allen P. Heim, who died in 1970.
She was educated in Pitman area schools. She was a homemaker and at one time worked at Twin Valley Farm, Hegins.
Mrs. Heim was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman RD1, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, former church organist and a former member and past president of Women's Missionary Society.
She is survived by two sons, E. Chester of Mechanicsburg and A. Lamar of Pitman; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (La Rae) Haas of Klineerstown RDl and Mrs. Paul (Marjorie) Smith of Pitman; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Earl (Mae) Herring of Elysburg.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Mae, in 1939; a son, Dean R., in 1987; one sister, Verna Esher; and four brothers, Charles Maurer, Darwin Maurer, Lewis Maurer and Raymond Maurer.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman RD1. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitors may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Born on Feb. 6, 1960, at Sunbury Community Hospital, he was the son of Bruce and Eileen (Bixler) Erdman, with whom he lived.
He was a graduate of Intermediate Unit 29 at Mar Lin through the Tri-Valley School District. He was of the Protestant faith.

Kenneth L. Erdman was born on 8 July 1924, Shamokin, Northumberland County, PA.2 He was the son of Abel Alexander Erdman and Mary Catherine Skopaz.1 Kenneth L. Erdman married Mary M. Shipe, daughter of Asa Shipe and Eliza (?), in 1946.3 Kenneth L. Erdman died on 7 May 2008, Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, PA, at age 83.1

Kenneth L. Erdman, 83, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday at Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was born in Shamokin on July 8, 1924, to the late Abel A. and Mary C. (Skopaz) Erdman.
He managed the McKinney Construction Company in Sunbury until 1969; he then went to work for Campbell Ray Hayes & Large in Altoona. In 1976, he went to work for E. I. Associates as an Architectural Representative until his retirement. He was a World War II 164th Combat Engineer, Army Veteran. Kenneth was a member of Paxton United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 998, Moose Lodge 382, AARP and the Carpenters Union, and was a 1942 graduate of Coal Township High School.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. (Shipe) Erdman, whom he married in 1946; his two sons, Kenneth L. Erdman (his wife Lois) of Pittsburgh and Abel A. Erdman (his wife Vita) of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Betty L. Kasody of State College, Gertrude B. Harper of CA; two grandchildren, Karl Erdman and his wife, Ellie of Memphis, TN and Alexander Erdman of St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 3 p.m., at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Rev. Richard E. Denison will be officiating. There will be a viewing from 7-9 p.m., on Friday and from 2-3 p.m., on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in can be made to his church at 3550 N. Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Mary M. Shipe was born circa 1923.2 She was the daughter of Asa Shipe and Eliza (?)2 Mary M. Shipe married Kenneth L. Erdman, son of Abel Alexander Erdman and Mary Catherine Skopaz, in 1946.1 Mary M. Shipe died on 1 June 2019.2

Age 96, died suddenly on Saturday, June 1, 2019, a resident of Whitehall since 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth; her parents, Asa and Eliza Shipe; brothers, Edward (Phoebe), Paul (Jean); and sister, Louise (Edward) Surak. Mary is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Lois) of Pittsburgh and Abel (Vita) of California; two grandsons, Karl (Ellen) of Tennessee and Alexander of California. She was a proud GG to Abigail, Mason, and Ryan of Tennessee. In addition, Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. While living in Harrisburg, Mary was an active member of Paxton United Methodist, where she was part of the team that made thousands of chocolate eggs each Easter, and chocolate-covered pretzels at Christmas. She had been a member of Brentwood Presbyterian Church since 2008 and volunteered with the church's Food Pantry. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from noon until 1:30 p.m. at which time a celebration of Mary's life will be held in the Chapel. Interment on Monday, July 22, 2019, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be sent to Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 3725 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
