Bixler married Doris Louise Paul, daughter of Oliver Sylvester Paul and Charlotte Emma Fietta Donton, circa 1943.1,4,3 David L. Bixler died on 26 January 2018, Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, PA, at age 95.3

David L. Bixler, 95, of Enola, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg. He was born on January 5, 1923 in Hegins, PA to Sadie and David S. Bixler and was the widower of Doris L. Bixler, who passed on May 24, 2016. They had been married for 73 years.
David was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and awarded the Purple Heart and 3-Bronze Stars. After 43 years of service, he retired from Amtrak as a Locomotive Engineer, having previously worked for the Pennsylvania, Penn Central, and Conrail Railroads. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. David was a member of Summerdale United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Martin and her husband Ronald, 2 sons; Daryl Bixler and his wife Carol, and David P. Bixler and his wife Marcia, 6-grandchildren; Sheri, Peggy, Ronald Jr., Wendy, Craig, and Dustin, 11-great-grandchildren; Micaela, Kevin, Ryan, Morgan, Drew, Hunter, Tanner, Rylee, Annabella, Abigail, and Elleanor. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing to be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Richardson Funeral Home, 29 s. Enola Dr., Enola, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Nanci L. Kenyon officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green cemetery, Camp Hill following the service.

Daryl Craig Bixler, 76, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at UPMC Community General Osteopathic Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 13, 1947, in White Hill, Pennsylvania to David and Doris (Paul) Bixler, he was one of three children and is preceded in death by his parents and beloved son, Chad.
Daryl is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Wendy Palese (Anthony); son, Craig (Emily); sister, Patricia (Ronald) Martin; brother, David (Marcia); three grandchildren, Annabella, Abigail, and Elleanor. He is also survived by an additional wealth of family and friends who love him and will miss him immensely.
A graduate of East Pennsboro High School, he went on to attend Purdue University. Joining the United States Army, he served in Vietnam. He was later employed by Otis Elevator as a Maintenance and Repair Technician for 38 years. He was a member of International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC Local 59) and enjoyed spending time with his union friends. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 272.
In his spare time, Daryl enjoyed camping, woodworking, Nascar and repairing gaming machines. He also enjoyed spending time at his winter home in Florida with family and friends. He adored his grandchildren and loved encouraging and spending time with them. His quiet demeanor, intelligence and witty humor brought light to those around him and left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for his earthly committal, with full military honors, at 11:00 A.M on Monday, February 12, 2024. The committal service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109, with Rev. David Biser officiating services.
The Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with care and arrangements for Daryl and the Bixler Family.
