RETIRED HERNDON LUMBERMAN DIES
Benjamin J. Michael, 65, retired lumberman of Herndon, R. D., died in his home following a lingering illness. Michael, a life long resident of the rural area near Herndon, was compelled to retire from his lumbering activities soon after he was tricken ill.
Surviving are his widow and four children, Mrs. Paul Witmer and Mrs. Fred Zartman, Herndon; Ray, of near Herndon, and Marlin, now at Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., where he is training for the Army Air Corps. A sister, Mrs. George Walborn, of Hunter Station, and two brothers, Harry Michael, of Klingerstown, and Francis Michael, Dalmatia, are other survivors.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in the Rothermel Funeral Home at Herndon, to be followed with major services in the Stone Valley Church, of which Michael was an active member. Rev. Elmer Dech will officiate and burial will be in the churchyard plot.

John Addison Remaly, 54, of Wilson died Monday, Dec. 1, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
A 1963 graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute, he was a drafting engineer for Pfizer Inc., Easton, before retiring on disability. Previously, he worked at Just Born Candies, Bethlehem; SI Handling, Forks Township; the former FW Armatage, Allentown, and Riegel Paper Co., Milford, N.J.
Born in Wilson, he was a son of the late Austin W. and M. Mae (VanNorman) Remaley.
Because of his many years as a patient in the Lehigh Valley Hospital peritoneal dialysis unit, he received a plaque and luncheon from the Baxter Co.
Survivors: Daughter, Stacie L. of Williams Township, and a brother, Austin Jr., and a sister, Doris J. Cook, both of Wilson.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Strunk Funeral Home, 2101 Northampton St., Wilson. No calling hours.
