John Paul Motika Sr. was born on 5 December 1933, Tuscorora, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He was the son of John Motika and Mary Fabian.2 John Paul Motika Sr. married Patricia Ann Klinger, daughter of Stanley Emanuel Klinger and Camille Rose Hart.1,3 John Paul Motika Sr. died on 27 May 1980, Porter Township, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 46; Newpaper report:
Termed suicide
State police today termed "suicide" the carbon monoxide poisoning death of 47-year-old John P. Motika of 236 S. Fourth St., Tower City, whose body was found yesterday evening in the cab of a pickup truck, parked off the Gold Mine Road in Porter Township, just outside Tower City. Troopers said Motika piped a hose from the truck's exhaust, into the cab. Deputy Coroner Paul Corl pronounced death at the scene and released the body to the Stewart Dreisigacker Funeral Home, Tower City.

John P. Motika
John P. Motika, 46, of Tower City, was found dead Tuesday in Porter Township.
He was born in Tuscorora, a son of Mrs. Mary Fabian Motika, Tuscorora, and the late John Motika. He resided in Tower City the past six years. He was self employed.
Mr. Motika was a member of St. Bertha's R.C. Church, Tuscorora. A Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of VFW Post 4385 Schuylkill Haven and Volunteer Fire Company, Tower City.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are a son, John P. Jr., at home; six sisters, Anna, wife of Michael Bisaha, Binghamton, N.J., Mary, Rockefeller, N.Y., Rose Marie, Helen, Tuscorora, Elizabeth, wife of Hank Hammond, Denville, N.J., Katherine Dyer, Weatherford, Texas; four brothers, Andrew Motika, Andres, Joseph and Bernard Motika and William Vacula, all of Tamaqua. A sister, Margaret, preceded him in death Feb. 12.
Arrangements are incomplete. Thomas L. and J. Richard Davis Funeral Home, Tamaqua, has charge.
