Charles E. Hain, 84, RR1 Dornsife
DORNSIFE -- Charles Edgar Hain, 84, of RR1 Dornsife died Monday afternoon, Sept. 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1915, in rural Elizabethville, a son of the late Charles Walter and Sadie (Maurer) Hain. He was married to the former Annie Marie Shiro, who died Nov. 13. 1957. He was preceded in death by his companion, Hilda (Klock) Klinger, who died June 17, 1995.
He was educated in Lykens Township schools.
Mr. Hain was a self-employed carpenter before retiring in 1980.
He enjoyed woodworking and playing the accordion.
Mr. Hain was Protestant.
Surviving are 10 children and their spouses. Clair E. Hain of Renovo, Kenneth E. and Joyce Hain, Doris and Patrick Flynn and Donald and Glenda Klinger, all of RR1 Dornsife, Charles B. and Suzanne Hain and Elaine M. and Junior Morgan, all of Gratz, Kenneth C. Klinger of Lebanon. Patricia M. and Glenn Reiner of RR1 Herndon. Janet H and Robert Northway of Kentwood, Mich., and Larry L. and Debbie Klinger of RR1 Dalmatia; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Harold of Camp Hill and Norman of Elizabethville.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chad Hain, who died March 22, 1998; one brother, Alfred Hain; and one sister, Martha Tressler.
Visitors mav call for the viewirg from 9 to 11 a m Thursday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funtral home by the Rev. Mark Rothermel.
Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery.
