John Ray Forney Sr. also went by the name of Jack.2 He was born on 22 March 1936, Tower City, Schuylkill County, PA.1 He was the son of Ralph Henry Forney and Dorothy M. Warfield.1 John Ray Forney Sr. died on 11 January 2009, Lykens, Dauphin County, PA, at age 72.3

John R. "Jack" Forney Sr., passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at home.
He was a 1955 graduate of the former Lykens High School; an active member of Lykens United Methodist Church; a retired employee of Alfa Laval Mfg. Facility where he was a member of IUE Local No. 168 and enjoyed fishing in Canada.
Jack was born March 22, 1936 in Tower City, son of the late Ralph and Dorothy Warfield Forney.
He is survived by his wife to whom he was married 52 years, Carol M. Sierer Forney; 2 sons: John R. Forney, Jr. and his wife Jane of Lykens; Dennis K. Forney and his wife Kathy of Dillsburg; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Forney and his wife Erin, Seth Forney, Elizabeth Carroll and her husband Nathan, Nate McCoy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 15th at his church with the Rev. Kay D. Schwab officiating.
Visititation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services, Thursday at the church.
Interment in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made Lykens United Methodist Church, 527 North Second St., Lykens, PA. 17048.
