Ellen M. Wiest, Market Street, Gratz, died Saturday in Polylclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
She was a daughter of the late German and Sally Welcher Daniel.
She was a retired employee of Muskin Shoe Millersburg.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Her husband, Melvin C. Wiest, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald (Chap) and Kenneth both of Gratz; two daughters, Carol S. Casner, Millersburg, and Charlotte M. Blankenbiller, Gratz; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carl and Homer DanJel, both of Lykens area, and Darvin Daniel, Gratz; a sister, Hannah A. Klinger, Millersburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg. The Rev. Merlin Sjoberg wil officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Rufus Leon Wiest was born on 10 June 1888, Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, PA.1,2 He married Katie Alice Schmeltz on 24 January 1907, Hegins, Schuylkill County, PA.2 At the time of the 1920 Census, Rufus, his wife "Kittie," and his family were living in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, where he was a farmer.3 Rufus and Katie lived on a farm north of Gratz. It was just west of Katie's parent's farm, while John Wiest lived on a farm just east of Katie's parents.2 Rufus Leon Wiest died on 14 October 1972, Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 84.1,4,2
