Melvin Clarence Wiest is also referred to as Red in some sources. He was born on 2 July 1912.2 He married Ellen Mae Daniel. Melvin Clarence Wiest died on 12 October 1976, at age 64.2

Melvin Wiest
LYKENS -- Melvin "Red" Wiest, 64, of Lykens RD, a former coal miner, died Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. in the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
Mr. Wiest had been in ill health for the past several years.
He was of Protestant faith. He was a of the Gratz and Klingerstown fire companies; and the Erdman Sportsmen's Association.
Born in Canada, July 2, 1912, he was a son of the late Allen and Ida Bowman Wiest.
Surviving are his widow, the former Ellen Daniels; two sons, Gerald and Kenneth, both of Gratz; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Long of Lebanon RD and Mrs. James Casner of Millersburg; a sister, Mrs. Calvin Miller of Hegins; two brothers, Bryant of Klingerstown and Roy of Elizabethville; a halfbrother, Ray Knorr of Klingerstown; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Friday in Klingerstown RD.
