Margaret A. Gradwell, 61, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at home.
Born in Pottsville on January 1, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Kostishak) Rumberger.
Margaret was the loving wife of Joseph E. Gradwell, to whom she had been married for 34 years.
She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Minersville, and attended St. Clair Wade United Methodist Church.
Margaret was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School, Class of 1982. She then received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to her husband, Margaret is also survived by sons: Jordan Rumberger, Pottsville, Daniel Dull, Pottstown, Joseph Rumberger, Daytona Beach, FL; and granddaughter Joey-Lynn Berger, at home. She is also survived by grandchildren: Madison, Raylynn, Emmerick, Ronin, & Link Rumberger, and great-grandchildren: Jesse & Jacob Wise.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cierra Gradwell and her brother, Richard Rumberger.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 1st from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 AM at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven with Pastor Jack Murray officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Cemetery, Minersville.

Gertie Wilhelmina Schreffler, 92, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 13, 2021, in Fernandina Beach.Gertie was born in 1928 to George and Gertie Raker in Northumberland County, PA. Due to the untimely passing of her mother during childbirth, she was nurtured through infancy by her aunts. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Willard, Jennie (until her death), and Lizzie Snyder since age three.Gertie loved the Lord and cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends over the years. She was an avid gardener growing amazing flowers, and vegetables to feed her large family. She retired from working 21 years as an EKG Technician at Divine Providence Hospital, now known as UPMC in Williamsport, PA. Gertie later moved to Florida to enjoy retirement, but with energy to spare and a love for people, she became employed by Publix Supermarkets for over 15 years as a cashier affectionately known as "Miss Gertie". She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.Gertie is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Rolandis, Harvey, and Earl Raker; former husband, love of her life and father of her children, Mark Schreffler; and infant son, Steven Schreffler.She is survived by her children, Jay Schreffler (Resa) of New Mexico, Sue Cobain (Stew) of Colorado, Dale Schreffler (Di) of New Mexico, Linda Meckley (Brett) of Pennsylvania, Patsy Llarena (Alex) of Fernandina Beach, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her companion cat, Midnite.Grandma Gertie with her infectious smile, spunk and determination will be missed by much family and many friends.A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville, PA.Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery.If attending, the family requests you wear flowered or bright colored clothing.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600, Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Bch, FL 32034 or Cats Angels, Inc, 709 S 8th St, Fernandina Bch FL.A second celebration of life will be held at a later date at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fernandina Beach, FL.Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
