July 27, 1992 — May 10, 2021
W. Vaughn Wessner, 28, of Orwigsburg, passed away Monday, May 10th, at his residence.
Born in Reading, on July 27, 1992, a son of Valerie (Hoover) Wessner, Cressona and Wade Wessner, of Auburn.
He was the husband of Rebecca M. (Weller) Wessner.
Vaughn was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, class of 2010 and Bloomsburg University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona. He was an excellent soccer player and enjoyed disc golf. He would play basketball at the Orwigsburg Memorial on Thursday evenings.
He was employed by Ehrlich Pest Control as a Residential Specialist.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his sons McKinley Allen and Waylan Vaughn; sisters Jessica Biddle and her fiancé Matthew Knox and Nicole Cook wife of Tom, all of Downingtown; a niece Mia; a nephew Cameron; maternal grandparents Bruce and Jean Hoover, Cressona; paternal grandparents Ron and Gloria Wessner, Auburn; as well as many friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, May 17th at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will be held prior from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the Church.
Interment will follow at Cressona Cemetery, Cressona.

LYKENS - Galen Lamar "Sonny" Umberger of Lykens, PA, departed this wonderful world on April 16, 2026 at UPMC West Shore Hospital.
He was born September 11, 1937 at Somerset Hospital, Somerset, PA to the late Henry Victor and Luella Klinger Umberger.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years Janet M. Kelley Umberger, sons Dennis and Brad, daughters Susan Schmick (Keith) and Trudy Stoner (Todd), grandsons Corey and Matthew (Christine) Schmick and Jacob Stoner, great grandson Theodore "Teddy" Schmick, brothers Marlin (Shorty) and George Umberger, sisters the late Joyce Moyer(Ken) and Darlene Eckler (Dennis) and many nieces and nephews.
Sonny was raised on a farm in Stoystown,Somerset County and attended schools in Kantner, Stoystown and Hooverville. In 1951 he moved to Wiconisco and graduated from the former Wiconisco High School Class of 1956 where he played basketball and baseball. He spent three years in the Army as a field radio repair specialist and he also played flag football and ran track events for his company in Fort Bliss, Texas. He was a boy scout in Stoystown and in Wiconisco where he was a member of Troup #146 and later became a neighborhood commissionerfor Troup# 146 in 1961 &1962. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and good friend Gene Yanoscak and his son Mike. He retired from Reiff & Nestor Company as a tool inspector which Sonny said was a wonderful Company to work for. Sonny was a member of Union #135, Gratz VFW Post 2385, Erdman Sportman's Association, Short Mountain Conservation Club, Wiconisco Fire Co., and the Loyal Order of Moose #1603. He attended the EUB Church in Wiconisco. He is leaving behind many good friends and his parting thought, God Bless America.
Funeral services for Sonny will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Minnich Family Funeral Home, Inc., 1238 West Market St, Williamstown, PA. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Short Mountain Conservation Club, Gun Club Rd, Lykens, PA17048.
