  Katie E. Kimmel, 80, of Main Street, Lavelle, passed away Wednesday morning March 4th 2015 at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel.
  Born in Mahantango Township, January 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helena Walter Harter.
  She attended the former Ashland High School, Ashland, and was employed 24 years as a cook for the North Schuylkill High School until her retirement. Katie was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland.
  Preceding her in death were sisters; Emma Panichelli, Pearl Balliet, Miriam Duren, Ruth Smith, Rosaline Harter, also brothers; Harry Raymond, Lester, Lamar and Darvin Harter.

  Husband: John, married 62 years
  Daughter: Kay wife of Donald Gibson, Exeter, R.I.
  Daughter: Linda wife of Burton Douthat, Berwick
  Niece and care giver: Diane wife of Edward Tarentelli, Mowry
  Two Grandchildren, nieces and nephews
  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, Monday, March 9th 2015 at 11 AM in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Kim L. Lengert, pastor. Interment will be in St. John’s (Kimmel's) Cemetery, Barry Township. A viewing will be held Monday morning in the church, 9 AM until service. Memorials may be made to Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland, PA., 17921.
