  Robert E. Miller, 92, of Mt. Gretna, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at his home. He was the husband of Janice L. Hoover Bode Miller. On September 15th, they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary.
  Born in York on August 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Ervin and Verna Crawford Miller. Robert retired from Lancaster Newspapers, Inc., after working in the Press Room for over 47 years. After retirement he worked at Core State Bank and the Bank of Lancaster Co. He was a former member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church, an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and an avid bowler and for over 50 years, bowling at Leisure Lanes in Mountville. He enjoyed watching Billy Graham, Sonlight Ministries and Charles Stanley. Robert was a 1943 graduate of JP McCaskey High School and he served in the US Marines during WW II.
  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Donna M. Getz of Lancaster, Patricia A. wife of Tony Labua of Charlottesville, VA and Stephen R. husband of Christine Miller of Strasburg; step-children Gale Adamczyk of Philadelphia, Connie Eberly of Brickerville, Kerry Bode of Aurora, CO, Edwadeen Sentz of Brickerville, Scott Bode of Conestoga, Michael Bode of KY, Jeffrey Bode of Mt. Gretna and Michele Ober of Cornwall; sister Dorothy Weaver of Manheim; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; ten step grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and two step great great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene Williams Miller; and sisters Hettie Marone, Nancy Hess and Peggy Cisney.
  Services will be at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be at Conestoga Memorial Park.
