James N. Schneck, 70, RD3 Pine Grove, died Thursday at Pottsville Hospital where he was admitted Jan. 14.
He born in Pine Grove Township, son of the late Theodore and Katie Lengel Schneck. He was a member of Hetzel's United Church of Christ and had been employed as a tanner.
His wife, the former Susie Eidem, died in 1968. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha, who died in infancy, and a son, Elvin, who died in 1964.

Hegins Area Man Dies in Hospital
William E. Wetzel, 61, Hegins R.D. 1, died yesterday morning at 10:15 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville. He was admitted to the hospital last Thursday.
A farmer and a former shipyard worker, Mr. Wetzel was born April 4, 1899, in Pitman, a son of the late James H. and Btrtha (Klock) Wetzel. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.
Surviving are the widow, the former Lottie Hepler; five children, James, Raymond and Ralph, all of Hegins; Carl, Ashland R.D., and Mrs. Eli Cabor, Yonkers, N.Y; five grandchildren, one brother, Dr. Roy J. Wetzel, Hanover, and two sisters, Mrs. Wayne Tifft, Mount Carmel, and Mrs. Clara McFall, Pennsfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman. Burial will be in the Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Pitman. The Rev. Ralph Bagger, Hegins, will officiate. Friends may call at the Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown R.D., Monday evening and at the church from 1:00 Tuesday afternoon until time of the funeral.

PITMAN - Mrs. Lottie Hepler Wetzel, 78, Pitman died Thursday morning in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, where she had been a patient for one day.
Mrs. Wetzel had been a guest at Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman since 1968. She was a former resident of Hegins.
Mrs. Wetzel was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.
Born in Pitman, March 31, 1895, she was a daughter of the late James and Jane Engle Hepler. Her husband William E. Wetzel died in 1960.
Surviving ' are five children, James and Raymond Wetzel both of Hegins, Ralph Wetzel of Hegins RD2, Carl Wetzel of Ashland RD, and Mrs. Eli Cabor of Santa Clara, Calif; 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Fred Hepler of Pitman, Miles Hepler of Media, and Elmer Hepler of Silverdale; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Masser of Pitman.
Tho funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD.
The Rev. William Wightman, Lutheran pastor of Valley View will officiate. Burial Will be made in Zion Evangelical Congregational Church Cemetery, Pitman.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening after 6 p.m.

Funeral services for Paul Allen Wetzel, stillborn son of Carl and Doris Rebuck Wetzel, of Mabel, Hegins, RD, were held Monday with interment in Barry Twp. Evanelical UNited Brethren Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
The child was stillborn at Samaritan Hospital Friday. Surviving in addition to his parents are these sisters and a brother, Nancy, Carl, June and Connie at home; the maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Gurney Rebuck, Orwin and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wetzel, Hegins.
