    CLYDE UNDERKOFFLER
    Clyde R. Underkoffler, 54, Williamstown, belived despondent over ill health, shot himself with a .22 calibler rifle Tuesday. Underkoffler, who had been released from Mont Alto Sanatorium July 29, was found dead in the basement of his home by his wife. He had shot himself in the abdomen. Dr. S. E., Herrold, deputy coroner, Lykens, issued a certificate of death by suicide. His wife and three children survive.

    Howard R. Underkoffler
    Howard R. Underkoffler, 79, of 133 Tunnel St., Williamstown, died Saturday in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
    He was born in Williamstown, a son of the late Rufus and Berdella Bowerman Underkoffler.
    He was a retired miner. Mr. Underkoffler was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown, Liberty Hose Company No. 1, Williamstown, Independent Miners Association, and Dauphin County Firemen's Association.
    His wife, the former Helen Keefer, died in 1956. Surviving are two sons, Raymond, Dauphin, and Floyd, Williamstown area; eight grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Hershel, Glenn, and Chester, all of Williamstown; a sister, Margaret Brenninger, Atlantic City, N.J.
    Services were held this morning at Corl-Dreisgacker Funeral Home Inc., Williamstown. The Rev. Dr. Susan Perez officiated. Interment was in Methodist Cemetery, Williamstown.
