    SUDDEN DEATH OF YOUNG MINER
    Homer Wilbert Klinger, aged 23 years, 10 months and 24 days, died at his home in Tower City, Thursday, March 10th, after an illness of two days. The young man had been in an anemic condition for nearly a year, but fell seriously ill only two days before his death, and his end came quickly when he suffered internal hemmorrhages.
    He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Klinger of Elizabethville R. F. D., born February 16, 1903, baptized October 25, 1923 by the Rev. C. M. Wolfe; confirmed in the Lutheran faith November 16 1918 by the Rev. Huyett and was united in marriage to Madie A. Daniels, December 28, 1923 by the Rev. Charles Rissinger. Mr. Klinger and family had resided at Tower City where he was employed as a driller in the mines.
    He is survived by his widow, two little daughters, Elsie Mae and Jean Mary; his parents; five sisters: Mrs. Ray Myers of Killinger; Mrs. Isaac Howard of Washington township; Mrs. Homer Lebo of Elizabethville; Mrs. Homer Feidt of Rife and Margaret at home; three brothers: Eston, Harry and Mark.
    He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and was affiliated with the Knights of Pythias and the United Mine Workers of America.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the home of his parents at ten o'clock, with further services conducted in the St. John's Lutheran Church, and interment made in the adjoining cemetery, the Rev. J. S. Sowa, pastor, officiating. Funeral Director Snyder of Tower City.
    The young man was well known and respected and will be greatly missed in both the Tower City and Berrysburg communities.

  • He was buried at St. John's (Hill) Lutheran Cemetery, Berrysburg, Dauphin County, PA.3,5
