George Elias Dietrich, 67, of RD2 Hegins, died Friday afternoon at his home. He was found on Sunday afternoon by a neighbor, Mrs. John Ebert. He had a heart condition and was in ill health for sometime.
Mr. Dietrich was born at Hubley Township Jan. 28, 1912, a son of the late Harry and Verna Shadle Dietrich. Before retiring, he, was a farmer and butcher and for several years operated a meat market at Valley View. He was a member of St. John's (Kimmel's) Church and Sunday School, RD Ashland; the Weishample Grange, Senior Citizens of Valley View, Hegins and Vallez View Fire Companies.
Surviving are his widow, the former Mary Maurer; the following children, Betty, wife of Eugene Schwalm, Baltimore, Md; Phyllis Dietrich, Hegins; Marjorie, wife of Robert Ludwig, RD2 Hegins; Clifford of Meredian, Conn; Marlin of Catawissa; Ruby, wife of Harold Clouser, RD Ashland; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. John Ebert, RD2 Hegins; Mrs. Thomas Maurer, Philadelphia; Mary, of West Chester; Mrs. Harold Miller, RD2 Hegins; brothers, H. William, of Hegins; Daniel, RD1 Hegins; Russell, Valley View; Ray of Dover (Pa.)
Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at St. John's (Kirnmel's) Church with the Rev. Lawrence Conway, Gordon, officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arthur R. Buffington Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Elmyra Dietrich, 87, of 824 E. Chestnut St., Hegins, died Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Barry Township, May 30, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Cora Lucas Maurer.
She was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church, Gordon, and a former member of Weishample Grange and Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E., in 1979; two daughters, Phyllis I. Dietrich and Elizabeth "Betty" Schwalm; a brother, Leon Maurer, three sisters, Mae Dunkelberger, Alverta Maura and Clara Ayrton.
Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie L. Ludwig, RD Hegins, Ruby E. Clouser, RD Ashland; two sons, Clifford G., Meriden, Conn., and Martin E., RD2 Catawissa; three brothers, Thomas Maurer, Philadelphia, Allen Maurer, Harrisburg, and Robert Maurer, Gratz; two sisters, Alma Maurer, Harrisburg, and Blanche Dziengiel, Middletown, N.Y; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ United Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Gould will officiate. Interment will be in Kimmel's Cemetery, RD1 Ashland. There will be no viewing. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
