ELIZABETHVILLE - Judith A. Paul, age 82, of Elizabethville, died November 8, 2023, at her home.
She was born on March 13, 1941 in Elizabethville, PA the daughter of the late G. Floyd "Flip" Buffington, Jr. and Erma (Shutt) Buffington, Jr.
Judith was married to Irvin T. "Bolivar" Paul for 42 years.
She retired as the manager of the Covered Bridge Restaurant in Elizabethville. She served as inspector of the polls, and became the judge of elections for the borough of Elizabethville with over 50 years of total service. She was a member of the Rainbow Valley Chapter of American Business Women's Association, and was a life member of the Gratz VFW Aux., and the Elizabethville Legion Post 404. She was involved with both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in Elizabethville.
Judith was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. At the church she served on Church Council, was a Sunday School teacher, served with the Parish Life Committee and was very active with the Shawl Committee.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, plants and gardening. She never met a dessert she didn't like. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Paul (Diane), Halifax and David Paul, Sr. (Chris), Elizabethville; two daughters, Diane Gladney (Robert), Mer Rouge, LA and Darcy Koppenhaver (Jason), Elizabethville; and grandchildren, David, Jr. (Sarah), Michael (Jill), Calen (Meghan), Jarrett and Clarice, Camden, and Alex, godson Peter Buffington, uncle Sam Gentile, Sr., brother-in-law Lawrence Miller, sister-in-law Maureen Buffington, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Roland and James Buffington, sister Linda Miller.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
