Arthur L. Klouser was born on 10 July 1932, Hegins, Schuylkill County, PA.3 He was the son of Arthur E. Klouser and Agnes Bixler.2 Arthur L. Klouser married Shirley Louise Straw, daughter of Claude Straw Sr. and Ruth Hoy, circa January 1952.1,4 Arthur L. ELIZABETHVILLE - Arthur L. Klouser, Jr., 81, of Elizabthville passed away Saturday, April 26th at Harrisburg Hospital. Arthur was born on July 10, 1932 in Hegins the son of the late Arthur H. and Agnes (Bixler) Klouser. He attended Hegins Township Schools.
We was the husband of the late Shirley L. (Straw) Klouser.
Arthur retired from Ralston Purina Company, Mechanicsburg and worked at the former Johnson Bailey Shoe Company, Millersburg. He was a barber for 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1954 to 1956, and was active during the Korean War. He is a life member of the Gratz VFW and a member of the Williamstown American Legion, and a member of the Gratz Historical Society.
He was a great father and friend. He enjoyed barbering, talking with friends, short trips, playing steel guitar and attending auctions.
He is survived by his daughter Beverly A. Schwalm and her husband Dean of Elizabethville, son Clinton J. Klouser and his wife Kathy of Elizabethville and son Scott A. Klouser of Elizabethville with whom Arthur lived. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jaime Boyle of Gilbertsville, PA and Kayla Klouser of Oviedo, FL, and great grandchildren Brynn and Aidan, sisters Helen Kessler of Hegins, Jean Rhinda of Cumbola, Kay Harner of Valley View and a brother Theodore Klouser of Hegins; and his favorite pets Bella & Maggie. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Victoria and infant son Terry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 2nd at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg with a viewing from 10-11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at David's Church Cemetery, Killinger. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
