Leo Andrew Schmick Sr. ,'79, of 310 Spruce St., Lykens, died Friday at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Mr. Schmick was born in Lykens, son of the late William and Mary Breit Schmick. He was a retired independent miner. He was a World War I veteran. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church and the American Legion Post 124, both of Lykens, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Tower City.
Surviving are his widow, the former Irene M. Reitenbach; four daughters, Regina, wife of Delphin Wiest, Harrisburg; Dolores, wife of Jack Host, Joanne, wife of William Herb, Patricia, wife of Eugene Yentsch, all of Lykens;- three sons, William, Philadelphia; Joseph, Williamstown; Leo Jr., Wiconisco; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Walde of Gardners; Mrs. Margaret Sigel, Lykens; one brother, Joe of Philadelphia.
Services will be held Monday morning. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Help of Christians Church by the Rev. James E. Noel. Burial will be in Wiconisco Cemetery. The Schaffstall and Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, has charge.
