    Charles H. Masser, 82, of Klingertown, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
    He was born June 5, 1936, at the Ashland Hospital, a son of the late Clarence R. and Maude (Blyler) Masser.
    Charles graduated from the Mahanoy Joint High School in 1953.
    He was a lifelong farmer and also served as a bank director for the Gratz Bank since 1984. He enjoyed every aspect of his bank duties and all the staff. Charlie worked with his family throughout his life and most recently enjoyed assisting with various tasks at the winery.
    He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, a member of the Klingerstown Fire Company and the Free Wheelers Motorcycle Club.
    Charlie's loves in life were his family and his Harley. He enjoyed his entire family joining him for any given meal, the more the merrier. He enjoyed cycling with his son, daughter-in-law, grandsons and friends, although his most traveled buddy was his brother, Sterman. He made annual trips on his motorcycle to the Penn State Creamery. He enjoyed the outdoors, mowing his lawn and sitting by the outside fireplace at home or the campfire at Huckleberry Hill.
    He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy (Knorr) Masser; four children, Rick Masser and his wife Amy of Klingerstown, Lisa King and her husband David of Felton, Lori Kuczala and her husband Andrew of Mohnton , and Michael Masser and his wife Josephine of Klingerstown; 10 grandchildren, Derek Masser and his wife Jessica, Kevin Masser and his wife Elaine, Kerry Masser and his wife Caroline, Matthew King and his wife Brittney, Madeline Klinger and her husband Brock, Mikaela Masser, Ian King, Jacob Masser, Andrew Kuczala and Nicolas Kuczala; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Emma Masser and Scarlett Rae Masser, and awaiting one great-grandchild's arrival; five siblings, Velma Kieffer and her husband Mark, Betty Martz and her husband David of Herndon, William Masser and his wife Darlene of Leck Kill Barbara Baumert of Herndon, Clarence Masser and his wife Gertrude of Dalmatia; a sister-in-law Geraldine Masser; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Sterman Masser; and a brother-in-law, Gary Baumert.
    A celebration of Charlie's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Benigna's Creek Winery, 1585 Ridge Road, Klingerstown.
    Private Interment will be in Salem Cemetery Klingerstown.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 1128 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown, PA 17941.
    Arrangements are by the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown.

    John Blyler, 80, lifelong resident of Valley View, where he was engaged in farming most of his life, die in his home
    Mr. Blyler, had been active the work of Church of God at Valley View. He was a member of the council, and served as treasurer of the parish for 65 years. He was born on Sept. 4, 1879. His parents were the late Daniel and Katie Holdeman Blyler.
    Surviving are, his wife, Agnes V. Blyler, and these daughters and sons: Mr. Charles Troup, of Hegins, Mrs. Clarence Masser, of Leck Kill, Daniel of Klingerstown R.D., Roy of Valley View, Elmer of Spring Glen Star Route, Mrs. Russell A. Carl of Spring Glen, Joseph Blyler of Hegins R.D., Mrs. Oren Umholtz of Valley View Star Route, Mrs. Afton Shadle of Klingerstown R.D., Mrs. Roland Hoffman of Valley View; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Samuel Blyler, of Valley View.
    Three children died previously.
    Funeral Friday afternoon from the Church of God at Valley View. The Rev. Deibert Urban will officiate at services. Interment in Church of God Cemetery. The body will lie in state from Friday noon until time of funeral.
