Alvin N. Brustkern, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and formerly of Independence, and Rowley Iowa died Wednesday evening, December 8, 2010 at the Hallmar Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Alvin farmed near Rowley, Iowa,
He is survived by three sons; David of Des Moines, Iowa, Alvin of Morrison, Illinois, and Tim (Pam) Brustkern of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, IA., with burial St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home in Independence where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.Friday.
