Newspaper obituary:
The community was shocked Friday morning of last week when news of the sudden death of Oliver I. Lebo became known. Mr. Lebo had been a sufferer from miners' asthma for years, and had given up his occupation of mining to become a carpenter. Although he complained of not feeling well the night previous, on Thursday morning he went to his work about a square away, but he returned home an hour later complaining of an asthmatic attack, and after taking treatment, lay on the couch, apparently not very ill. A doctor was summoned, however.
Shortly after his wife heard his labored breathing and rushed into the room to find him breathing his last. His death occurred before the arrival of the doctor.
The deceased was a son of the late John Lebo and wife, of Reinerton and Was well favorably known thruout the valley. He was a consistent member St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Orwin, and was known as a man of quiet disposition and and good habits, enjoying respect esteem of his fellow men. Fraternally he was a member of the P. O. S. of A. of Muir and the Carpenters' Union. At the time of his death he was employed by W. J. Henry of Tower City.
To survive he leaves his aged mother, three brothers, Charles, of Lancaster; Edward, of Tower City; and Joseph of Philadelphia; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Schwalm, of Reinerton; Mrs. E. W. Miller, of Tower City, and Mrs. Lottie Snyder, of Ashland; his wife, nee Ida Mae Long; and the following children: Grace, Harry, Oliver, William, George, Lloyd, Helen, Beulah, Allen and Luther.
The funeral was held on Tuesday at 9 o'clock, services being conducted in the Evangelical church Muir by Rev. Ira F. Frankenfield, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran church. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The funeral was very largely attended.
