Albert Clyde Bixler, 71, husband, of Maude (Morgan) Bixler, of RD1 Hegins, died at his home Saturday at 2:10 p.m. He had been ill for some time.
He was born in Hegins Township, March 30, 1903. He was a son of the late Lewis and Mary Jane (Bainbridge) Bixler.
A miner, he had been employed in regional mines. He was a member of St. Andrew's Methodist Church and the Valley View Fire Company.
Surviving are his widow and these sons and daughters, Herman, of Valley View; Alvin, of RD1 Hegins; Robert, of Sacramento; Mary Jane, wife of Bruce Shepler, of Elkton, Md; Thomas, of Valley View; Marie, wife of Willard Clark, of Star Route, Valley View; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eva Bixler of Minersville; 32 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Earl Koppenhaver, of RD1 Hegins; Mrs. Ray Kroh, of Tower City; Mrs. Paul Phillips, of Williamstown; two brothers, Lester Bixler, of Spring Glen and Earl Bixler, of Rock.
Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View. Rev. Leland Keemer will officiate, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. Gordon Oplinger of Williamsport. Interment will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery, Valley View.
